内容記述 | The Science Partnership Project(SPP),sponsored by the Japan Science and Technology Agency,is one of several novel programs that link science education between high schools and colleges. This program is basically aimed to encourage students to have a real desire to learn science and other subjects during their high school days and prepare them for their future. Seven years have passed after it started including a four years consultation period. There is some evidence that clearly shows this program is effective for some high school students. This was also our experience. This program is not,however,effective for all students who take part in the program. The inquiry survey indicates that there are at least three groups of students in any given area,and only one or two work functionally within the program,suggesting that high school students have various needs from this kind of science program. To accommodate these needs,in Hokkaido,for instance,both colleges and universities selected as educational providers have moved more closer together to prepare several different types of activities,where students can select one such activity freely according to his or her own interests. If this turns out to be effective,a similar approach may be applicable to both general and professional education at university level. | |||||
